Julie Chen Moonves will host the summer hit reality series Big Brother. The show returns to CBS on the 5th of August to begin the 2nd season. Chen Moonves has been an integral part of The Talk since 2010, where she was moderator as well as host. Her true passion was when she started writing, and was awarded an Emmy. She won another Emmy for her role as host of an outstanding entertainment talk program. The Talk examines contemporary events by looking through the eyes of five hostesses. Chen Moonves hosted CBS News The Early Show's early morning news show The Early Show for a decade. The anchor was for The Early Show as well as CBS Morning News. The CBS Television Network broadcasted a half-hour of news at the beginning of the morning. Chen Moonves also covered the war in Iraq as well as other important news stories on The Early Show. In the wake of 9/11, Chen Moonves tracked down the father and lead hijacker for an exciting and exclusive interview. Chen Moonves is a journalist who has worked alongside newsmakers such as former New York City City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Queen Rania as well as former Defense Secretary William Cohen and Denzel Washington. Chen Moonves reported on the Emmy award-winning CBS Sunday Morning program. The program featured celebrities such as Jamie Lee Curtis, Betty White, Jamie Foxx, Scarlett Johansson, Katie Holmes, Matthew McConaughey, Mel Brooks, Robert DeNiro, Jennifer Lopez, and Matthew McConaughey. While completing her last semester at University, she served as an assistant at ABC News in Los Angeles (1990-1991) and was producer for ABC NewsOne (the network's affiliated news program). Her first job in broadcasting was as a desk associate to ABC News' late-night broadcast Nightline together with Ted Koppel, who remains among her journalistic idols. Chen Moonves was Koppel's co-worker on Anatomy of a Riot (the primetime special that won the Columbia du-Pont award and looked at the Los Angeles riots of 1992).
